LARRY V. DYKSTRA

My career as a corporate executive provided the privilege of  working on well-known consumer brands, specializing in consumer insights, brand strategy, and innovation.  Following my retirement, I pursued diverse experiences intended to stretch me as a person. These activities explored broad themes: playing music with and for others, serving hospitalized children, and exploring matters of spirituality and healing, and engaging in physical activity. Along the way, I found that stringing words together on paper was a useful tool for helping me process my thoughts and find meaning.

While my books cover diverse subjects and worlds, what they have in common is my underlying belief that it is through our stories that we come to understand two contradictory truths: (1) each of us is unique, and (2) we all have much in common.

 

My hope is that by reading my work, you will feel compelled write your own story in your own voice and share it with others.
